Text of Vernon Jordan's Statement March 6, 1998 Text of Vernon Jordan's statement outside the federal courthouse on Thursday, March 5 after completing a second day of grand jury testimony. "I have just completed two days of testimony before the grand jury pursuant to a subpoena from the independent counsel. I do not know as of this moment whether I will be called back or not. That is not my decision. I do want to reiterate two things and speak about two others. First of all, it is a fact that I helped Monica Lewinsky find private employment in New York. Secondly, it is a fact that I took Monica Lewinsky to a very competent lawyer, Frank Carter, here in Washington, D.C. And thirdly, it is a fact that I kept the president of the United States informed about my activities.
