"Brave Sir Blogger" Bio
Brave Sir Blogger is Douglas Barricklow.
Born in 1971. Happily married with child. Christian. Editor and founder of The Coffee Shop Times. Degree: Bachelor of Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.
I began blogging after it became obvious that time constraints would continue to prevent me from updating The Coffee Shop Times as often as I'd like. Sometimes I blog every day; at other times, once a week.
My favorite editorial page is The Washington Post's, and my favorite blog is Andrew Sullivan's.
Why Brave Sir Blogger?
An explanation of my blog handle, Brave Sir Blogger.
I'm the Production & Creative Imaging Manager for The Dallas Cowboys Radio Network. In 2006, the Network was taken in-house by the Dallas Cowboys, so today I office at Valley Ranch.
But before 2006 the rights to the Network were held by KLUV-FM, an Oldies music station. And my boss there, an animate Oldies encyclopedia, gave me the nickname Sir Douglas (he gives everyone nicknames), because I share a part of my full name with the 60's band, The Sir Douglas Quintet.
Soon after becoming Sir Douglas (and Sir D) to co-workers, one fellow took to greeting me with an enthusiastic and shrill falsetto Monty Python impersonation, "For I am Brave Sir Douglas."
Hence my choice of Brave Sir Blogger.
